1 C milk, 80-90F
1/4 C butter, unsalted, room temperature
1 T sugar
1 1/2 t salt
4 C flour
4 t bread machine yeast
1 egg, lightly beaten for brushing


Place all of the ingredients, but the egg, in bread machine in order listed.
Run Dough/Pizza Dough cycle.
Deflate dough, divide into 2 parts, depending on the braid type you want.

Braid dough as described HERE‎.

Brush a baking sheet with olive oil, and place the loaf on the baking sheet.
Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 30 min, or until doubled in size.
Brush with egg, for golden brown finish.

If you don’t like crusty bread, use ‎THIS REFERENCE to find an alternative to egg wash.

Bake at 375F for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
