Herring Butter

200 g butter
1 herring, salted


Clean herring from roe, soak in water for 2 hours.
Remove all skin and bones, chop finely and mix with butter, at room temperature.
Roll into a log and wrap, or put in the ice cube trays.
Chill until hardened.

Match made in Heaven:

Big slice of freshly baked bread or crostini.
