Garlic Croutons

few slices day old coarse bread, sliced 1/2 inch thick
1/3 C olive oil
3 garlic cloves, halved lengthwise


Fry garlic in oil over moderate heat, untilthe garlic, until just turned brain.
Take out the garlic and add the bread to the pan. (May reserve the garlic chips for another use, like a soup or salad topping, if desired). Fry on all sides until golden brown.
Let drain on paper towel.
